Sassicaia 2021 is "quintessential" in the Bolgheri context, a wine that represents the excellence of the vintage and respects the unique flavor profile of this distinguished Tuscan blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Sassicaia 2021 Bolgheri offers impeccable balance, excellent freshness, and no signs of overripeness.

The fruit balance is excellent, with a hint of crispness and a persistent tension between skin and pulp. The tannins are well-managed, with a lovely presence and enough smoothness to add substance and persistence.

The bouquet offers aromatic herbs and spices, with cinnamon and cloves, delicately layered among red berries and violet aromas. Redcurrant, blueberry, pomegranate, and cherry are the protagonists of this vintage. A fragrant hint of rose also emerges with age. The oak tones lean toward spices, with notes of gingerbread, hazelnut, cigar tobacco, sandalwood, and something reminiscent of grilled sweet red pepper (more on this later).

On the palate, it offers plenty of substance and a delicate acidity that adds power, luminosity, and density to the wine. This pronounced freshness opens the wine up to long aging potential, and it deserves time in the bottle—several years, certainly.
