Sassicaia is undoubtedly one of the most famous Italian wines in the world.
It comes from a 75-hectare vineyard with particularly suitable soils, where the parcels exhibit diverse characteristics, with limestone formations and a high stony content—a characteristic that likely gives rise to the name "Sassicaia."
The soils have a west- and southwest-facing exposure.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, with maceration on the skins for approximately 10 days.
The Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC from Tenuta San Guido is aged in French oak barriques for 24 months, followed by bottle aging.
