Such regular weather conditions allowed for hand-harvesting without any particular difficulties, and once they arrived at the cellar, they were subjected to a meticulous selection on the sorting tables.
Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with frequent pumping over, especially during the initial stages.
The wine was then aged in large oak barrels, where it had the opportunity to mature. CastelGiocondo Brunello is ready for release five years
after harvest and only after further aging in the bottle.
Intense and brilliant ruby red color. Castelgiocondo is always distinguished by its elegance, a characteristic that is, if anything, even more pronounced this vintage.
The fruity notes are dominated by blueberry and blackberry, complemented by blackcurrant and other berries. Floral notes of violet and dog rose follow, always present in the bouquet of the best Brunello di Montalcino.
The nose opens with distinct spicy notes of black pepper and cardamom, followed by a pleasant licorice aroma.
On the palate, the tannins are dense but not particularly harsh, delicately complemented by mineral notes. The consistency of the nose and palate and the long, persistent finish make it particularly balanced.
