Nipozzano Riserva is a Chianti Rufina made from a skillful blend assembled by the Frescobaldi winery team. Along with 90% Sangiovese, small percentages of Malvasia Nera, Colorino, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon are also included.
These grapes are grown within the Chianti Rufina district, in vineyards located between 250 and 500 meters above sea level, facing southeast. The terroir is arid, composed of stone, limestone, and clay.
Once in the cellar, the grapes macerate for 25 days with frequent batonnage, completing both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. Finally, the production process concludes with the aging process, during which the wine rests for 24 months in barrique and then, after bottling, for another 3 months directly in bottle.
A very bright and luminous purple color. The nose is enveloped in a pleasant fruity bouquet, from which woody and spicy notes emerge on the finish, derived from the aging period in barrique.
On the palate, it is full-bodied, ample, and rounded, with tannins finely integrated into the overall structure, resulting in a smooth and velvety drinkability.
A Tuscan red with which the Frescobaldi winery confirms its excellent quality standards, offering us a wine from one of the DOCGs that have made, and continue to make, the success of "Made in Italy" wines worldwide.
